French Vintage Guest Towels 3 Blue and White Hand Fringed towels,

These lovely soft cotton towels have the feel of hammam towels, the fringing is deep and two of them are beautifully embroidered with the initials A&B. An excellent example of the French trousseau tradition, all household linens used to be hand finished and embroidered before marriage, a custom which continued through until the early part of the 20th century. These towels have a blue border design and the fringes on both ends are hand tied. Two of the towels are monogrammed, beautifully worked and each a different design of the same 2 letters, A&B. All are in excellent condition.
